About this event

Event details from SHIR

SHIR Australian Jewish Music Festival is proud to announce UNBREAKABLE, an extraordinary evening of Jewish music taking place in Melbourne on 22 October. The Festival presents Australia’s largest celebration of Jewish cultural identity and artistic excellence; and this year, also includes contributions from Australia’s Indian, Iranian and Samoan communities in a historic embodiment of social cohesion through music.

Headlined by former Israeli hostage Daniella Gilboa, 22, UNBREAKABLE will bring together an exceptional line-up of performers for an evening celebrating Jewish music, courage, resilience and hope.

Joining Daniella is Australia’s best loved pianist Simon Tedeschi AM, 2025 IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition winner Sidra Nissen, international award-winning cellist Rebecca Herman, Carols by Candlelight vocalist Jemma Cher, soul powerhouse Sarit Michael, brothers Ezry and Mizzi Israel, Fiddler On The Roof star violinist and Director of SHIR Ben Adler, and the critically acclaimed CHUTNEY ensemble.

The concert celebrates the beauty of diverse musical traditions, through inspiring collaborations with guest artists from Indian, Iranian, and Samoan backgrounds. These artists include Australian/Iranian Muslim singer and multi-instrumentalist Mustafa Karame and Australian/Indian vocalist Rucha Lange and Indian master tabla player, Maharshi Raval – each bringing with them their own thousands of year old musical traditions, and a desire to sing in harmony and solidarity with Jewish Australians.
