Sydney Build Expo Showcases Inclusion Efforts
Fast Labour Hire has partnered with Empowered Women in Trades (EWIT) at the Sydney Build Expo to enhance workforce inclusion for women across various trades. This collaboration was showcased at Australia's largest construction and infrastructure event, which attracts key industry decision-makers.
Operating across five Australian states, including Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia, Fast Labour Hire has been providing skilled labour for industries like construction and manufacturing since 2013. The partnership with EWIT at the expo aimed to increase visibility and representation of women in trades, moving beyond policy to actual industry presence.
Amanda Tregenza, Project and Culture Lead at Fast Labour Hire, highlighted how the event fostered industry connections and promoted conversations leading to cultural change within the sector. She remarked, “I’ve never been naturally comfortable walking into new rooms alone or speaking publicly. But last week felt different. Sydney Build Expo pushed me well outside my comfort zone in the best way.”
Promoting Cultural Change
Melinda Davis, General Manager of EWIT, emphasised the role of industry partnerships in creating lasting cultural change in trades. She stated, “Events like Sydney Build are crucial for building the partnerships and visibility required to drive such change.”
The expo provided a platform for Fast Labour Hire to engage in discussions, podcasts, and networking opportunities. Tregenza shared, “It gave me the opportunity to speak about the side of labour hire people don't always see. Genuine investment in people, skill development, and building long-term teams.”
Fast Labour Hire's appearance at the expo marked a significant step in their national market awareness strategy. Their presence placed the company directly in front of industry leaders, contractors, and project managers who make decisions about workforce and culture. Since the company began in 2013, their focus has been on providing quality skilled labour to various industries.
The partnership aims not only to enhance inclusion but also to ensure that women have a significant presence in the trade industries. Fast Labour Hire’s participation at events like Sydney Build Expo underscores their commitment to these goals.
