€42 Million Raised to Enhance Hydrogen Technology

H2SITE, a leader in hydrogen production and separation solutions, announced a strategic investment exceeding €42 million through the second closing of its Series B round on 25th June 2026.

The European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund, along with a private investor, contributed to the funding, joining existing investors BEV, Suma Capital, Hy24, Crane, Enagás Emprende, Calderion, and CRPV.

H2SITE has demonstrated over 50,000 operating hours with its membrane reactors and separators in Europe, establishing advanced manufacturing capabilities and producing thousands of Pd-based membranes annually.

The company is now entering a new phase focused on executing large-scale industrial projects and the global commercialization of its solutions, according to Andrés Galnares, CEO of H2SITE.

Expansion into Global Markets

The EIC Fund’s involvement supports H2SITE’s growth and entry into key markets such as Asia, complementing previous support from the EIC Accelerator programme.

Javier Cavada, Chairman of H2SITE, stated that the EIC Fund joining the shareholder base is a “strong vote of confidence” in the company’s ambition to become a global leader.

The new funding will aid the deployment of a project at the Port of Antwerp to advance ammonia cracking technology for low-carbon hydrogen production, establishing new hydrogen supply chains for hard-to-abate sectors.

H2SITE’s technologies have been validated and are ready for replication across multiple markets and industries, aiming to contribute to Europe’s industrial competitiveness and energy independence.

Hermann Hauser, Board Member of the EIC Fund, remarked on the importance of moving breakthrough technologies from validation to industrial deployment to enhance Europe’s energy resilience.

Over the past years, H2SITE has successfully demonstrated the maturity and scalability of its technology, which has been instrumental in establishing advanced manufacturing capabilities in Europe.

The EIC Fund’s investment complements the support previously provided through the EIC Accelerator programme, which enabled H2SITE to advance its ammonia cracking technology for low-carbon hydrogen production.

This investment marks an important milestone in H2SITE’s evolution as an industrial company, reflecting confidence in the company’s ability to transform technological innovation into scalable industrial assets.
