Winter Styling Tips from Cozey and Designers

As winter sets in, Australians are turning their homes into warm retreats. Insights from Cozey’s Australian-first showcase in Bondi highlight the trend of creating inviting spaces. The event featured furniture and styling tips to ‘cozey up’ homes this season.

Cozey, a Canadian furniture brand, has introduced its Home of Cozey in Australia, emphasising comfort and warmth through design. Edmund Lam, Vice President of Brand and Creative Direction at Cozey, remarked, “There are definite similarities between North American and Australian interiors in winter, particularly around the desire for comfort and spaces that feel lived-in.”

He highlighted that Australian homes focus on openness and softness, adding warmth through texture and atmosphere. Instead of drastic changes, they incorporate subtle elements that transform the space.

Designer Insights and Featured Pieces

Local designers, including Marcus Hay and Laura Cave, shared their winter styling advice using Cozey’s pieces. Marcus Hay explored a richer, moodier palette with the Gaia Sofa in Sage, inspired by the earthy tones and tactile layering seen throughout recent Milan Design Week collections.

Laura Cave created a calming winter interior using the Ara Bed in Silken Sand. She focused on neutral tones, layered bedding, and tactile textures. “Everything feels timeless, comfortable and effortlessly chic,” mentioned Cave. “It makes the room feel really relaxed and like somewhere you want to slow down.”

The event also highlighted the Stella Coffee Table in Walnut for its versatility in relaxed, design-conscious spaces. Meanwhile, the Caleb Rug added warmth and texture to open-plan areas, enhancing the cozy ambiance.

Frederic Aubé, Cozey’s founder, observed the positive response to the Home of Cozey. He noted a growing demand for comfortable, personal homes in Australia. This trend aligns with the introduction of Cozey’s Australian range, now available online, offering a variety of pieces designed to enhance the winter home experience.
