Seamless Progress Tracking for Readers
Rakuten Kobo and StoryGraph have announced a new integration launching in June 2026. This feature will allow Kobo users to automatically sync their reading progress with StoryGraph, offering deeper insights into their reading habits by seamlessly updating reading data.
Kobo is now the first eReader to offer native progress syncing with StoryGraph. Users will spend less time logging their progress manually, gaining insights into their reading preferences through automatic updates.
Michael Tamblyn, CEO of Rakuten Kobo, said, “For a lot of us, the best part of reading is the community. It’s a part of how we show up in the world as readers every day.” He expressed his excitement about the integration with StoryGraph, highlighting its ability to connect readers.
Enhanced Reading Experience
With the integration, Kobo eReaders and apps will automatically sync with a user’s StoryGraph account. This means that whether reading an eBook or listening to an audiobook, a user’s progress will be captured and updated to their StoryGraph profile seamlessly.
Nadia Odunayo, Founder & CEO of StoryGraph, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Our mission is to make reading lives better, and removing the friction from tracking is one of the most direct ways we can do that.”
The integration not only facilitates progress tracking but also connects Kobo users to a global community of readers. Users can participate in reading challenges, join book clubs, and engage with StoryGraph’s analytics to better understand their reading behaviours.
According to the announcement, the integration will be available for all Kobo account-based content from June 2026. Users interested in connecting their accounts can find detailed instructions on the StoryGraph website.
StoryGraph is renowned for its powerful feature set and deep data insights. By linking their accounts, Kobo users can leverage StoryGraph’s sophisticated analytics to understand their reading habits better. The platform provides personalized recommendations based on unique tastes and detailed charts about reading moods and pace.
Beyond tracking, this integration invites readers into a vibrant global community. Kobo users can stay motivated with reading streaks, participate in community-led challenges, and join book clubs, all while their Kobo reading activity directly fuels their engagement on StoryGraph.
