Cinema 4D and ZBrush Go Mobile

Maxon announced the launch of free access tiers and mobile expansions for its popular 3D software tools, Cinema 4D and ZBrush, during a presentation on April 16, 2026. This move aims to make professional-grade creative tools more accessible to a broader range of artists.

Now available on iPad, the beta version of Cinema 4D introduces professional 3D workflows to a mobile platform for the first time. Optimized for touch interfaces, it offers core 3D modelling and design capabilities in a mobile-friendly format. Recommended devices include the iPad with M3 chip or later for optimal performance.

Maxon is also reintroducing its motion graphics application, Autograph, as a free download for individual users. Designed for motion designers, 2D/3D artists, and content creators, Autograph provides a professional foundation for creative experimentation and production. It integrates 2D animation, compositing, and 3D capabilities, supporting industry standards like USD, OpenEXR, and OpenColorIO. Compatibility with Universe and select Red Giant tools, along with third-party OpenFX plugins, enhances its utility for professional designers.

Dave McGavran, CEO of Maxon, emphasised the significance of accessibility, interoperability, and user empowerment in creative innovation. He stated, “With these initiatives, we’re expanding access to professional tools so more artists can experiment, build, and grow within a connected creative ecosystem.”

Maxon’s ecosystem is expanding to Windows on Arm-powered devices, including tablets and desktop systems. This expansion includes ZBrush, Cinema 4D, and Red Giant tools, making them more adaptable to modern workflows. The demand for 3D and motion content is accelerating across social media, streaming, gaming, and immersive media, prompting creators to seek flexible and affordable entry points into professional workflows.

Visitors can see Maxon’s innovations at NAB 2026 from April 18 to 22, where attendees will explore Cinema 4D for iPad and ZBrush for Windows on Arm at booth N2741. This event in Bad Homburg, Germany, showcases Maxon’s commitment to empowering artists to work where they want, how they want.

As Maxon continues to lower the barrier to entry for professional creative software, more artists can access industry-standard tools without compromising professional capabilities. This initiative marks a significant step in making digital art and design tools more attainable for creative professionals worldwide.
