Izakaya Rooftop Venue by MAMAS Set to Redefine Melbourne Dining
This Spring, Melbourne hospitality group, MAMAS Dining Group (Hochi Mama, Straight Outta Saigon, Hochi Mama 3121, Kiss & Tell, Windsor Wine Room, Suzie Q) will launch its most electric and ambitious venue to date – a Japanese izakaya-inspired rooftop, in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.
Taking over the city’s beloved skyline hotspot, Madame Brussels, MAMAS Dining Group will bring Level 3 on 59-63 Bourke Street back to life. This time, it’s a low-lit, disco-drenched homage to 1980s Tokyo, where the sake flows, the flavours are bold, and the soundtrack keeps you dancing late into the night.

The new venue will offer a sharing style menu of Japanese cuisine, designed by MAMAS Dining Group’s Culinary Creative Director, Michael Stolley. Expect sushi from master Japanese chefs and smoky chargrilled izakaya-style dishes, with an extensive sake list, Japanese-inspired cocktails and Japan’s finest craft beers.
Following an extensive fit-out by Melbourne’s top hospitality architects DIRECTITUDE, the retro-modern style multifaceted venue will seat up to 150. With sweeping views of the city skyline, guests are invited to sit back and sip on clandestine drinks late into the night, soundtracked to the spinning vinyls of smooth disco and rhythmic hip-hop.

Thai Ho, CEO and Director of MAMAS Dining Group, says,
“We’re so excited to open our 7th venue in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, a huge milestone to mark MAMAS 10 years of operation in Australia’s most renowned city for hospitality. Moreover, to open in one of the city’s most iconic locations is such a fantastic opportunity, and we can’t wait to bring the soul of Shibuya nights and the heart of Harajuku days to Melbourne’s CBD.”
