Exhibitors Showcase Innovations in Munich
The smarter E Europe 2026 concluded on June 25 in Munich, marking the largest energy industry exhibition in Europe. It showcased a global shift towards renewable energy and attracted 105,000 visitors from 163 countries.
Held at Messe München, the expo featured 2,650 exhibitors from 52 countries presenting advancements in virtual power plants, smart grids, storage technologies, and more. More than 66% of these exhibitors came from outside Germany, underscoring the event’s international appeal.
Dr. Tim Meyer, an energy expert, emphasised the ongoing global transformation toward a new energy system, stating, “We are in the midst of a global transformation toward a completely new energy system.” His comments highlighted the significance of this transition.
Renewables 24/7 Exhibit Highlights
The Renewables 24/7 exhibit was a highlight of the event, showcasing the reliability and economic benefits of renewable energy. Markus Elsässer, CEO of Solar Promotion GmbH, remarked, “That is why the path toward a renewable future must be pursued consistently. There can be no turning back.”
During the technical programme, participants engaged in discussions on the latest industry developments. The programme included four specialist conferences attended by over 3,000 people, focusing on the future impact of renewable energy.
Organised by Solar Promotion GmbH and Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG, The smarter E Europe emphasised the growing importance of renewable energy in ensuring a sustainable future. Jens Mohrmann, Managing Director of FWTM, explained, “With our focus on Renewables 24/7, we addressed the right topic at the right time.”
Throughout the event, more than 19 exhibition halls and an Outdoor Area buzzed with enthusiasm. Attendees explored the potential for societal change and energy transition. The diverse range of products and solutions demonstrated the industry’s readiness to embrace a renewable future.
After the success of the event, the message was clear: renewable energies are key to providing a reliable, secure, and cost-effective energy supply. As the world moves towards a new energy system, the exhibition highlighted that innovation and collaboration are essential.
