Guide Highlights Region's Tourism Growth

Launching its first official Visitor Guide in eight years, the Scenic Rim is set to attract more travellers to this growing tourism destination in Queensland. Offering diverse experiences, the guide aims to showcase the region’s unique offerings.

Visitors can find the 64-page guide at local visitor centres and online. Highlighting over 100 tourism operators and experiences, it inspires exploration of the Scenic Rim’s natural beauty, local hospitality, and distinct accommodations.

In 2025, over 787,000 day visitors and nearly half a million overnight guests came to the Scenic Rim. This influx contributed more than $217 million to the local economy and supported more than 1,200 jobs in tourism and hospitality.

Those seeking meaningful escapes now identify the Scenic Rim as an ideal destination. Attractions like ancient rainforests, camel dairies, and cliff-top adventures are featured, ensuring something for every visitor.

Years ago, the Scenic Rim was not widely known as a luxury escape. Today, it boasts extraordinary eco cabins, wellness retreats, and vineyard stays. The region has also achieved ECO Destination Certification, aligning with nature-based and sustainable tourism.

The Scenic Rim Eat Local Movement, a Queensland Tourism Awards Gold winner, highlights the area’s success in paddock-to-plate food tourism.

Scenic Rim Mayor Tom Sharp remarked, “This new Visitor Guide beautifully captures the essence of our region and provides visitors with the inspiration and information they need to confidently explore our towns, villages, and landscapes.”

According to Destination Scenic Rim Chairperson Mary-Clare Power, “This guide has been developed to not only inspire visitors but to actively support our tourism industry by showcasing the incredible breadth of experiences available throughout the Scenic Rim.”

Available at key travel points across Queensland, the guide encourages longer stays and greater visitor engagement with curated multi-day itineraries. It positions the Scenic Rim as a leading travel destination in Queensland.

Now internationally recognised for adventure tourism, eco-tourism, food tourism, wellness escapes, farm stays, and events, the Scenic Rim remains wonderfully grounded. Local producers and farmers offer a warm, welcoming atmosphere, enriching the visitor experience.

Melbourne’s biggest moments, straight to you.
