Agtecnic expands PWM support and sprayer fit-outs
Agtecnic has unveiled a green-on-green targeted spot spraying function for its SenseSpray platform, allowing weeds to be identified and sprayed inside actively growing crops.
The Brisbane agricultural technology developer announced the update in announcement MR #07 on 4 August 2026.
SenseSpray already uses patent-pending green-on-brown technology with RGB cameras to detect weeds against soil or stubble backgrounds.
With the new in-crop mode, the platform extends that approach into growing crops and supports weed control across multiple seasons.
According to Agtecnic, the added capability is designed to improve environmental efficiency and lower operating costs by spraying only where weeds are detected.
Rob Johnson, Agtecnic co-founder, said in-crop targeted weed control had been a long-term roadmap priority and a frequent request from SenseSpray users.
“Precision in-crop targeted weed control has long been a priority on our long-term roadmap and a frequent request from SenseSpray users,” Johnson said.
SenseSpray is also expanding compatibility with third-party pulse width modulation rate control systems, starting with CapstanAG PinPoint 3 and Ag Leader RightSpot.
Meanwhile, Agtecnic is preparing compatibility with CNH’s future Aim Command FLEX II and IntelliSpray II systems, including the Base+Boost rate control feature.
Base+Boost applies a low-rate blanket spray across a field, then boosts chemical volume over detected weeds.

For sprayers without an external PWM system, the company is developing a native SenseSpray PWM nozzle control option.
That system includes individual nozzle control, speed compensation, turn compensation and support for 25 cm nozzle spacing.
New sprayer-specific kits are also in development for Horsch LEEB VT and VL sprayers and for Case IH Patriot 50 series booms.
The Case IH package covers 120ft bifold booms and is intended to give growers a retrofit path for existing machines or an option for new equipment.
Johnson said the company looked forward to the advantages the upgrade could deliver to the broader agricultural sector.
Agtecnic has not published release dates or full feature lists for the new green-on-green capability as of 4 August 2026.
