Cadmould AI Solver Dramatically Reduces Simulation Time

AACHEN — SIMCON has unveiled the Cadmould AI Solver, a transformative tool in the injection moulding industry, claiming it to be the world’s first large engineering model of its kind. This was announced in a statement released on March 18, 2026, highlighting its capability to deliver simulation results up to 1000 times faster than traditional methods.

The German-based company co-developed the Cadmould AI Solver with Emmi AI, using a transformer-based neural network architecture. According to SIMCON, this new AI technology allows engineers to explore design alternatives more efficiently by providing instant feedback in the early stages of development.

Revolutionising Injection Moulding with AI

Historically, lengthy computation times have hindered the exploration of various design iterations, a bottleneck the Cadmould AI Solver aims to eliminate. Bastiaan Oud, CEO at SIMCON, stated, “By introducing the Cadmould AI Solver, we are giving engineers a high-speed compass to use during the iterative design phase.” The AI Solver is designed to work alongside traditional numerical solvers, with Cadmould Flex offering high-precision validation for final manufacturing sign-off.

This announcement comes as industries increasingly seek faster and more efficient manufacturing solutions. The AI Solver has been trained on significant amounts of data to predict complex behaviours without requiring model retraining, marking a significant advancement in the field.

Further, the Cadmould AI Solver is expected to impact various sectors that rely heavily on injection moulding processes, such as automotive, aerospace, and consumer goods. Its ability to swiftly simulate complex injection moulding scenarios opens new possibilities for innovation and cost reduction in these industries. By significantly reducing the time and resources needed for simulation, companies can accelerate their product development cycles and bring new products to market faster than ever before.

The collaboration with Emmi AI also underscores a growing trend of partnerships between AI specialists and traditional engineering firms, aiming to blend cutting-edge technology with established industry practices. SIMCON’s commitment to innovation is evident in its continuous efforts to refine and enhance its software solutions, ensuring they remain at the forefront of technological advancements in the field of injection moulding.
