AI Tools Enhance Incident Response
Grafana Labs announced that PointsBet, one of Australia’s fastest-growing digital wagering operators, has selected Grafana Cloud as its unified observability platform. This decision aims to enhance their AI-driven incident response capabilities. The announcement was made on June 8th.
Integrating Grafana Cloud allows PointsBet to consolidate telemetry data across its proprietary betting platform. This platform includes real-time odds calculation, player account management, and custom betting engines. By integrating metrics, logs, traces, and profiles into a single platform, PointsBet aims to eliminate data fragmentation and streamline incident response.
Daniel Lucas, CTO of PointsBet, stated, “Our platform is our product. Grafana Cloud gives us one place to see everything, and the AI tools to act on it fast.”
Benefits of Grafana Cloud Implementation
Unified observability across various data sources was a key factor in PointsBet’s selection of Grafana Cloud. By leveraging open-source technologies such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana Loki, Grafana Tempo, and Prometheus, PointsBet can operate with a service ownership model, enabling teams to observe, understand, and act on their platform’s performance.
The introduction of Grafana Assistant enhances PointsBet’s capabilities by providing engineers with an AI co-pilot for troubleshooting. Engineers can perform natural language queries and navigate dashboards rapidly, which significantly reduces the time required to resolve incidents.
“Observability used to mean drowning in dashboards, alert noise, and waiting for someone else to tell you what’s on fire,” said Saurabh Vyas, Head of SRE at PointsBet. “We chose Grafana Cloud because it brings technology and commercial teams together on a single view, building autonomous value streams.”
Grafana Cloud Application Observability provides PointsBet’s teams with end-to-end visibility into service performance. It offers insights into service dependencies, latency issues, and the customer impact of changes. This comprehensive view enables teams to quickly identify and address root causes, maintaining high platform reliability for users.
