Community Events Highlight Fundraising Efforts

In a heartfelt show of support, AFL star Tom Hawkins joined the Tour d’Horse 2026 in Muswellbrook. His wife, Emma Hawkins, is riding through the Hunter Valley to raise awareness for the KIDS Foundation, which supports children and families affected by trauma and injury. Tom threw his support behind her, engaging with the community throughout the event.

During the event, Tom visited the Muswellbrook Cats. Here, he interacted with young players and their families, sharing stories and offering encouragement. His presence helped foster a strong sense of community spirit among attendees.

As the day unfolded, participants returned to base camp for an evening of camaraderie around a campfire. The atmosphere was enhanced by a performance from Australian country music artist James Johnston. His music set the tone for a memorable evening.

Joining the evening’s activities were broadcaster Hamish McLachlan and seven-year-old Winter, who battles Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Their presence added emotional depth to the gathering, as they expressed gratitude to everyone involved.

Emotional Campfire Performance

One of the night’s most touching moments was when young survivor Awheata Exford joined James Johnston for a soulful performance. This act highlighted the courage, healing, and connection that are at the heart of the tour.

The Tour d’Horse 2026 continues to play a vital role in raising funds and awareness for the KIDS Foundation. The initiative brings communities together, sharing stories of hope and providing support for those impacted by trauma.

As the tour progresses, it remains committed to its mission of aiding children and families. The collective efforts of participants and supporters make a significant impact on the foundation’s goals.

Tour d’Horse 2026 not only raises funds but also builds community ties. It creates a platform for shared experiences and mutual support, contributing to a brighter future for those affected by trauma and injury.
