PERTH — The TSANZSRS Annual Scientific Meeting 2026 has commenced in Perth, bringing together international experts to discuss advancements in respiratory science. According to the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ), the five-day conference features a diverse programme including plenary sessions, workshops, and industry exhibitions. Key topics such as pulmonary disease and lung transplantation will be covered by specialists from countries including the UK, US, and Brazil.

Dr Kimberley Wang, Chair of the TSANZ Organising Committee, highlighted the importance of the event, stating, ‘This meeting is a significant opportunity for professionals to engage with the latest research and advancements in respiratory health.’

Focus on Advancements in Respiratory Health

The conference will also spotlight several awards, with recognitions like the TSANZ GSK Clinical Research Award and the TSANZ Chiesi Advancing Women in Respiratory Health Award. These awards aim to celebrate excellence and foster leadership in respiratory research.

Hon Meredith Hammat, the Western Australia Minister for Health and Mental Health, addressed the conference, emphasizing the critical nature of respiratory health as a priority at both national and state levels. The inclusion of workshops on topics such as nicotine cessation and lung transplantation aims to provide targeted professional development for attendees.
