B Lab recognition highlights workforce, community and environmental efforts

Actus Nutrition has achieved Certified B Corporation status, joining the global business community verified for social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

Actus Nutrition has spent more than 80 years upcycling dairy-based raw materials into high-value nutrition ingredients used by customers around the world.

Founded in 1945, the company operates as a vertically integrated manufacturer of nutritional ingredients for health and wellness products.

It also works as a co-manufacturer for many popular household brands and has a significant presence in the pet and livestock feed industries.

B Lab verifies Certified B Corporations against standards covering governance, workforce practices, environmental stewardship, community impact and customer responsibility.

According to Actus Nutrition, the certification supports its view that business success should create value for employees, customers, suppliers, communities, the environment and other stakeholders.

Chief executive David Lenzmeier said: “We’ve always believed that how a company operates matters just as much as what it produces.”

The company linked the award to several long-running programmes across its business and supply chain.

Actus Gives Back programme

Employee development measures include leadership programmes, tuition reimbursement and scholarships.

Meanwhile, community work includes volunteer efforts and charitable giving through the Actus Gives Back programme.

Across manufacturing operations and the supply chain, Actus Nutrition also highlighted energy reduction efforts as part of its environmental work.

The company further pointed to responsible sourcing, transparency and continuous improvement across the business.

Stacey Pexa Lodden, chief human resources officer, said the certification reflects years of work across the organisation to build a company that values people and aims to make a positive impact beyond business results.

Actus Nutrition described the certification as a public commitment to keep improving rather than a final milestone.

As part of the global B Corp community, the company plans to keep advancing social and environmental initiatives while supplying the nutrition solutions its customers rely on.
