2026 Cycle Open for Nominations Until August
Almarai has launched the 2026 cycle of its prestigious award dedicated to food security research in dryland regions, inviting nominations from leading research institutions and qualified PhD-level scientists. Nominations are open until 21st August 2026.
Recognised as the world’s largest award for research focused on food security in arid and semi-arid environments, the Almarai Prize has a total value of USD 500,000. It aims to recognise and support groundbreaking scientific work that addresses the challenges of food scarcity in these regions.
With a collaboration spanning over 20 years, Almarai and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) continue to strengthen their partnership. Self-nominations are not permitted, ensuring that projects are put forward by institutions and PhD holders who can nominate up to three projects each.
