From Brisbane to Major US Cities
Global entertainment platform Fever has backed the Australian-born Theatre of Magic for an international expansion, announced on 9 April 2026. This marks a new chapter for the production.
Theatre of Magic originated in Brisbane at the end of 2024 and has rapidly expanded to perform in cities such as Brisbane, Melbourne, and Toowoomba, as well as in major US cities including Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, and Austin, Texas. This impressive growth showcases the global appeal of the show.
Fever, known for its popular Candlelight Orchestra series, recognised the show as an exciting live entertainment export from Australia. It is now positioned for further global reach thanks to this partnership.
Australian Illusionists Lead the Charge
Three renowned Australian illusionists created the production: Christopher Wayne, Josh Norbido, and The Amazing Nigel. Each brings unique talents, combining world-class sleight of hand with theatrical charm.
Wayne, a master magician, now leads the US expansion from his base in Boston. He is best known for co-creating The Naked Magicians, the most successful Australian magic show in history. He made history as the first Australian magician to headline a solo Off-Broadway season.
Acclaimed card specialist Josh Norbido has featured in productions like Poker Face and Oceans 10. Recently, he was named among the world’s top five close-up magicians and won Best Magic Podcast.
Completing the founding trio is ‘The Amazing Nigel’, renowned for his unique blend of magic, comedy, and astonishing memory feats. He remains one of Australia’s most in-demand corporate entertainers.
Wayne stated, “Created to replicate the elegance and mystique of Los Angeles’ famous Magic Castle, Theatre of Magic delivers an evening of world-class entertainment experienced just inches from your eyes.”
The production employs over 15 professional magicians in Australia, performing every weekend. This scale helped attract Fever’s attention and fuelled the rapid international expansion.
Now based in Boston after a year in the US, Wayne leads the charge for the Theatre of Magic’s continued rise. “Fever saw what Australian audiences were experiencing week in, week out, and recognised it as something worthy of the global stage,” he remarked.
Bookings for the Theatre of Magic are available online, with performances scheduled every weekend across its various locations, ensuring audiences continue to be captivated worldwide.
