FoodTech Sydney will run on 17th and 18th August 2027
FoodTech Sydney will debut at ICC Sydney, Darling Harbour, on 17th and 18th August 2027, creating a dedicated trade event for New South Wales food manufacturers.
Diversified Australia launched the event in Melbourne on 29th July 2026, with exhibitor stand bookings opening live on the floor at foodpro 2026.
New South Wales is Australia’s second largest food manufacturing market, yet it has had no dedicated, locally hosted industry event. FoodTech Sydney is built to fill that gap with a specialist format for local operators.
NSW market finally served
The event targets manufacturers that are past the discovery stage and now want to improve returns from existing equipment or decide what technology to add next.
Its programme will cover five segments: Advanced Processing & Automation; Intelligent & Digital Factories; Ingredients & Additives; Food Science, Quality & Testing; and Packaging Technology & Materials.
According to Diversified Australia, the format will centre on live demonstrations, operator-led case studies with documented ROI, and structured commercial talks based on real operational needs.
Research with more than 200 industry stakeholders found 74.7% of manufacturers see ROI and cost confidence as the main barrier to adopting new technology. As a result, FoodTech Sydney will use demonstrations to show how systems work in practice.
Louise Brooks, event director at Diversified Australia, said NSW manufacturers were ready to act but lacked an event built for their point in the buying cycle.
“FoodTech Sydney is that event, specialist, held locally, and focused on implementation, not browsing,” Brooks said.
Meanwhile, the launch won early support from Oestegaard, Contech, Gelita and Visy, which committed to the inaugural event in its opening days after the announcement at foodpro 2026.
Diversified Australia has set launch targets of more than 100 exhibitors and 2,000 visitors for the Sydney show.
FoodTech Sydney also completes the company’s national Food Manufacturing Event Portfolio. That line-up now includes foodpro Melbourne in 2026 and 2029, FoodTech Sydney in 2027, and FoodTech QLD Brisbane in 2028.
Because those events span Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, exhibitors can maintain a continuous presence across three markets that match the industry’s investment cycle.
The Sydney event is positioned as a trade show for advanced food manufacturing, production technology and sustainable operations. Following the Melbourne launch, Diversified Australia is now selling stand space for the 2027 event.
