Engaging School Leaders Across Central West NSW

Today, Forbes High School is hosting over 80 school leaders from Central West NSW as part of the 2026 NSW Schools Roadshow. This event brings the NSW Plan for Public Education to life in local communities, providing a platform for direct engagement with school leaders.

The NSW Department of Education’s annual roadshow focuses on sharing insights from diverse school contexts to shape the future of public education in NSW. School leaders from Forbes, Canowindra, Cowra, and Cudal are participating, ensuring local voices contribute to decision-making processes.

Key Highlights and Quotes

NSW Department of Education Secretary Murat Dizdar highlighted the roadshow’s importance, stating, “It’s inspiring to see so many school leaders coming together with a shared purpose to improve outcomes for every student.”

The department’s senior executive team is attending each roadshow stop to engage directly with principals and better understand local challenges and opportunities. At the Forbes event, Mr. Dizdar will highlight key achievements in NSW public schools, such as strong student growth in NAPLAN and the expansion of the Inspire programme for high potential and gifted students.

He stated, “We are committed to ensuring every student, regardless of their postcode or background, has access to a world-class public education. Bringing leaders together like this strengthens professional networks and builds a more connected, resilient public education system.”

The 2026 Schools Roadshow will visit 10 locations across NSW, continuing its mission to foster collaboration and enhance educational outcomes statewide. This initiative ensures that education policies are responsive and deeply connected to the communities they serve.

In addition to showcasing local achievements, the roadshow provides a forum for school leaders to share experiences and solutions, facilitating a more effective educational system across the state. The event underscores the importance of listening to principals and leaders to build more responsive and effective policies.
