Stick With It backs clinics across Australia

The Goanna Academy will deliver more than 50 preventative mental health clinics and programmes across Australia in the next 12 months after its 2026 Stick With It campaign ended on Monday 3 August 2026.

Across July 2026, players, fans, clubs and communities backed the fundraiser with donations, strapping tape sales and merchandise purchases. As a result, the charity says it can reach more communities and reduce barriers to support.

In one month, supporters bought enough Stick With It tape to stretch across more than 32 rugby league fields.

The campaign named communities from Cairns to Perth, Dubbo to Canberra, and Western Sydney to Melbourne. The release described support coming from coast to coast.

32 rugby league fields of tape

NRL and NRLW players who wore the tape included Nicho Hynes, Olivia Kernick, Dane Gagai, Isabelle Kelly, Jess Sergis, Isaiya Katoa, Teagan Berry, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Taliah Fuimaono, AJ Brimson, Corban Baxter, Valentine Holmes and Tallisha Harden.

Founder Greg Inglis said the rugby league community had exceeded his call to tape up during July 2026.

“We’re incredibly grateful. I’m genuinely blown away by what this community has come together to do. When we launched this campaign, we asked people to put a piece of tape on their wrist. What they’ve given back is so much more than that.”

Money raised will fund clinics in communities that have not had this kind of support before. It will also support programmes for kids in schools so they can learn how to ask for help.

Inglis linked each donation, merchandise purchase and player action to practical support for people who need help. He said the campaign would help the academy reach more people in more places than before.

Donations remain open at goannaacademy.org.au. Supporters can still buy strapping tape and merchandise there, and every purchase directly funds Goanna Academy mental health education programmes.

The announcement was issued in Sydney on Monday 3 August 2026. Images and campaign assets for 2026 were also made available alongside the appeal update.

The release also set out the scale of the wider crisis in Australia. It said nine Australians lose their life to suicide every day, more than 150 attempt suicide every day, and suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15 to 44.
