Over 170 Entries Confirmed for 2026 Event
Tickets for the 2026 Hamilton Island Race Week, running from 15th to 22nd August in the Whitsundays, are now available. The event has already registered over 170 entries, making it a significant occasion in Australia’s sailing calendar.
This year’s fleet includes a diverse range of yachts, from the 100-foot maxi yacht Wild Thing 100 to the smaller 6.9-metre Sonata 7. International participation is highlighted by Hong Kong yachtsman Karl Kwok, who will compete with his yacht Beau Ideal in the Super 40 division.
Hamilton Island Race Week, now celebrating its 41st year, continues to be a premier offshore sailing regatta in Australia. The event’s appeal is evident with strong early entries and an exciting lineup of activities.
Renae Trimble, Hamilton Island’s Chief Operating Officer, remarked on the event’s popularity, saying, “Hamilton Island Race Week continues to attract sailors, spectators and holidaymakers from across Australia and around the world.”
2026 Social programme Highlights
The social programme for 2026 features a long lunch with chefs Josh Niland and Khanh Ong, an ‘In Conversation’ event with Olympic silver medallist Olivia Price, and a Kylie Minogue Wines Garden Party. Spectator cruises will be available on the Superyacht Rascal.
American Express returns as the Presenting Partner, with new sponsors such as Volvo Cars and Ahoy Club joining. Volvo will showcase electric vehicles, while Ahoy Club will host spectator cruises on the Superyacht Rascal.
