WeMoney also gave HCF its customer service award

HCF won two major titles at the 2026 WeMoney Insurance Awards, including Health Insurer of the Year for the second straight year and Outstanding Customer Service. The results were announced on Tuesday, 21 July 2026.

WeMoney judges assessed value, claims experience, digital experience and member satisfaction. The awards criteria also gave extra weight to features and services valued most by Gen Z and Millennial consumers.

The Health Insurer of the Year title goes to the insurer judged strongest overall across service delivery, coverage, member experience and value. In 2026, that put HCF at the top of WeMoney’s main health insurance category for the second year running.

Founded in 1932, HCF is Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund. It covers more than 2 million members across health and life insurance, plus travel, pet, home and car insurance products.

Chief Operating Officer Kevin Keane linked the result to HCF’s member-first model. “We’re proud to be recognised by WeMoney as Health Insurer of the Year for the second year running and to receive the Outstanding Customer Service award.”

Keane said HCF focuses on returning value to members rather than shareholders through affordable cover, service and support. He also said the fund is working to make support, information and care easier for members to access.

HCF Life award results

HCF Life, a wholly owned subsidiary of HCF, collected three more awards in 2026. It won Outstanding Customer Service, Income Protection for the third consecutive year, Outstanding Customer Service, Life Insurance for the second consecutive year, and Best for Flexibility, Life Insurance for the second consecutive year.

Keane said those HCF Life wins reflected the group’s wider focus on health and financial wellbeing. He said the recognition showed HCF was helping Australians protect both.

The 2026 WeMoney wins add to a longer awards record for HCF. Canstar named HCF Outstanding Value Health Insurance in each year from 2016 to 2025, a 10-year run.

Over the past 10 years, HCF returned an average of 88.7% of premium dollars to members as benefits. APRA statistics put the industry average at 84.4% over the same period.

As Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund, HCF says it returns value to members rather than shareholders. More information on the awards is available at hcf.com.au/about-us/about-HCF/awards.
