New tools for photographer workflows

HoneyBook launched new photography tools on 9 July 2026 that bring booking, gallery delivery and client communication into one platform. The release adds Client Photo Galleries and Mini Sessions, while Two-Way SMS is due soon as a paid add-on.

From San Francisco, the company unveiled what it called a significant investment in features built by a team focused on photographers. Customer research and a photographer council of HoneyBook users helped shape the rollout.

Oz Alon, HoneyBook’s CEO and co-founder, argued that many photographers still handle one client job across a CRM, a gallery tool, a scheduling app and a personal phone number for texts. He said the new launch brings those workstreams together in one platform.

Client galleries inside HoneyBook

Client Photo Galleries are built directly into HoneyBook’s CRM. Photographers can deliver branded photo and video galleries without paying for a separate gallery service.

Premium plans include unlimited storage. Galleries now sit alongside contracts, invoices and project records inside the same HoneyBook subscription.

Mini Sessions booking flow

Mini Sessions targets short event-style shoots such as holiday minis, spring portraits and themed sessions. Clients can book back-to-back time slots, sign contracts and submit payments in one process.

As a result, photographers can run high-volume booking days without splitting scheduling, paperwork and payments across several apps. HoneyBook built the feature around the way mini session events usually operate.

Two-Way SMS add-on

Two-Way SMS gives members a dedicated business phone number that routes text chats into HoneyBook projects. Desktop and mobile access are included, and push notifications alert users when clients reply.

Members will also be able to send smart files by text and trigger automated messages at key moments. HoneyBook plans to offer Two-Way SMS as a paid add-on.

Tap to Pay on iPhone

Alongside the new tools, HoneyBook highlighted Tap to Pay and Automations for photographers. Tap to Pay turns an iPhone into a card reader, with no extra hardware required.

That lets members accept in-person payments for portrait session upsells or on-site deposits. According to HoneyBook, the wider aim is to cover the full client journey, from the first text to the final delivered gallery, in one system.
