Freedom 1 supply deal starts in 2027

LibertyStream Infrastructure Partners has signed a definitive lithium carbonate offtake agreement with its previously announced U.S. Industrial customer. The contract covers 600 tonnes a year from 2027.

Under the initial delivery schedule, LibertyStream will ship 150 tonnes in each quarter. Pricing is set for the first two years of planned supply.

Freedom 1 will supply the lithium carbonate from LibertyStream’s first commercial-scale facility at Select Water Solutions’ Howard County site. That plant has a planned design capacity of 1,000 tonnes a year.

At that design rate, the deal accounts for 60% of Freedom 1’s planned annual output. As a result, LibertyStream has a defined demand base before deliveries begin in 2027.

On 8th June 2026, LibertyStream announced the term sheet that led to the definitive agreement. The new contract formalises a multi-year supply relationship for U.S.-produced lithium carbonate.

600 tonnes a year agreed

Alex Wylie, LibertyStream’s president and chief executive, said: “Finalising this agreement turns customer qualification into a contracted delivery schedule.”

Wylie said 600 tonnes a year, with two years of pricing, gives Freedom 1 a clear demand anchor as LibertyStream moves toward customer delivery planning. He also linked the contract to shareholders and potential capital partners.

According to LibertyStream, the contracted volume, delivery timing and initial pricing framework should help as it evaluates capital options and advances Freedom 1. Those terms also give the company price visibility for the first two years of supply.

Meanwhile, the agreement sets a framework for work with the customer on product specifications, quality control, packaging, logistics and delivery planning. That coordination is aimed at the expected 2027 supply start.

LibertyStream expects to provide further updates as Freedom 1 preparation, customer delivery planning and capital activities advance. The company issued the announcement from Dallas.

Shares in LibertyStream trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under LIB, on OTCQB under VLTLF and on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under I2D.

LibertyStream is targeting a place among North America’s first commercial producers of lithium carbonate from oilfield brine. Its plan uses proprietary direct lithium extraction technology and existing oil and gas infrastructure.

Because LibertyStream intends to build on established energy sites, it says the approach can cut capital costs and lower project risk. Select Water Solutions’ Howard County site is the planned base for Freedom 1.
