Large Cap Growth and All Cap Growth turn 20

Loomis, Sayles & Company said its Growth Equity Strategies assets reached $98.2 billion on 31 May 2026, while its Large Cap Growth and All Cap Growth strategies marked 20 years.

Aziz V. Hamzaogullari, CFA, founded the Growth Equity Strategies team and serves as chief investment officer and portfolio manager. He is also an executive vice president and a member of the Loomis Sayles board of directors.

Since Hamzaogullari joined Loomis Sayles in 2010, Growth Equity Strategies assets have increased from $1.9 billion to $98.2 billion by 31 May 2026.

Aziz Hamzaogullari and QGV7+

In 2010, Hamzaogullari brought a long-term, private equity approach to listed equities at Loomis Sayles. The team uses a proprietary seven-step research framework called QGV7+.

Under that process, the team looks for a small number of high-quality companies with sustainable competitive advantages and profitable growth. It buys only when shares trade below its estimate of intrinsic value.

Over 20 years, the Growth Equity Strategies team built its platform beyond the US-focused Large Cap Growth and All Cap Growth strategies.

The lineup now includes Global Growth and International Growth long-only strategies, plus a Long/Short Growth Equity hedge fund strategy.

In the US, investors can access the strategies through mutual funds, managed accounts, collective investment trusts and an ETF. Outside the US, Loomis Sayles offers UCITS and other vehicles.

According to Loomis Sayles, the team’s alpha thesis rests on persistent investment beliefs, a rigorous repeatable process and proof points developed over 20 years.

The firm also argued that investors should judge managers by investment philosophy, process and decision-making when they assess the odds of future success.

Chief executive Kevin Charleston said, “Since joining Loomis Sayles in 2010, Aziz and the Growth Equity Strategies (GES) Team have exemplified excellence through their unwavering commitment to delivering superior risk-adjusted returns for our clients.”

Charleston also credited the team’s disciplined investment philosophy with strong performance and praised its impact on clients and the firm.

Hamzaogullari thanked investors for their trust and confidence. He said the team would keep following its core principles of long-term investing.

The anniversary highlights two 20-year strategies and 16 years of expansion since Hamzaogullari arrived in 2010. As a result, Growth Equity Strategies has become a much larger business inside a firm with nearly $418 billion in assets.
