AI 1000 to Transform Tech Talent Landscape
On June 12, 2026, LTM announced the AI 1000 initiative in Bengaluru, India. This programme aims to develop over 1,000 AI-certified engineers, including Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs), to help enterprises adopt and scale AI technologies. LTM, a Larsen & Toubro Group company, is an AI-centric global technology services provider. They partner with the world’s largest enterprises to bring human insights and intelligent systems together.
Addressing the growing demand for skilled tech talent, AI 1000 provides structured training, platforms, and career frameworks necessary to cultivate FDEs at scale. A dedicated Centre of Excellence (CoE) supports this comprehensive workforce transformation approach. This launch comes amid a major shift in enterprise tech talent, emphasising roles like FDEs, which are among the fastest-growing in the AI ecosystem.
AI 1000 follows a four-stage model: Identify, Enable, Deploy, and Govern. The initiative starts by identifying high-potential engineers using an AI Readiness Index. Tailored learning journeys focus on AI-native skills and real-world applications through hackathons and use cases. Following these learning journeys, qualified engineers are deployed into AI programmes.
Training and Deployment Process
A governance framework tracks performance, captures insights, and feeds them back into the system for continuous improvement. An integrated platform ecosystem supports this framework, enhancing delivery with transparency and adaptability. This creates a continuous cycle of capability building and growth, better enabling FDEs to achieve and measure business impact for clients.
