Melbourne’s 2027 Australian Grand Prix will have Moët & Chandon as its main sponsor, expanding the champagne producer’s involvement at Albert Park.
The brand will take title sponsorship of the event alongside its existing role as Formula 1’s official champagne. The agreement follows its title sponsorship of the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.
Moët & Chandon President and CEO Sibylle Scherer said: “Australia is one of the world’s great Champagne markets and Melbourne gives this title sponsorship a resonance that extends across the Asia-Pacific region.”
The Melbourne season opener marked the brand’s return as Formula 1’s official champagne in 2025. To mark the occasion, its champagne cork-shaped hot-air balloon, ‘The Spirit of 1743’, flew over the city, echoing an Australian journey it had made almost 30 years earlier.
A Grand Prix Connection Spanning Decades
Moët & Chandon previously appeared on the Australian Grand Prix podium from 1985 to 1997. Drivers who celebrated with its champagne during that period included Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell and Michael Schumacher.
Australian Grand Prix CEO Travis Auld said: “We look forward to working with Moët & Chandon as the 2027 title partner, to set a new benchmark for luxury sporting experiences for fans at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit.”
