Collaboration to Enhance Global Retail Insights

NielsenIQ (NYSE: NIQ), a leading consumer intelligence company, and INTAGE HOLDINGS Inc. (INTAGE HD), a premier market research firm in Japan, have announced a strategic partnership to expand retail measurement insights between Japan and global markets. The collaboration, confirmed on 24th April 2026, aims to leverage the strengths of both companies to offer enhanced market performance analysis.

This partnership combines INTAGE HD’s deep local retail store panel data and insights into the Japanese domestic market with NIQ’s extensive global and regional retail store panel data. As a result, the alliance facilitates improved comparisons and understanding of market trends and performance across various countries and regions.

According to Chang Park, Managing Director of NIQ’s Northeast Asia Cluster, "Clients today are increasingly looking for a more complete and connected understanding of consumer buying behaviour across markets." This collaboration aims to provide a comprehensive view that benefits both global and local clients by offering more consistent and comparable insights.

Benefits for Global Clients

Global clients will gain access to INTAGE HD’s nationwide retail store panel data in Japan, specifically SRI+ and SRI+EC, which supports market entry and expansion strategies. Meanwhile, Japanese clients will benefit from NIQ’s Retail Measurement Services, which encompass over 100 countries and regions, thereby supporting international growth.

Yoshiya Nishi, CEO of INTAGE HOLDINGS Inc., emphasised the importance of this partnership, stating, "Japan is a highly complex and unique market, and a deep understanding of the local market and a global perspective are both essential to realizing business growth."

This collaboration addresses the critical challenge of limited comparability between Japan and other markets by connecting local and global data more seamlessly. This unified approach will help businesses gain a comprehensive view of market performance, facilitating better-informed decision-making.

Founded in 1960, INTAGE Group ranks as the number one marketing research company in Asia. They leverage vast amounts of data obtained from Japan’s largest consumer panel (SCI) and retail panel (SRI+) to support decision-making across diverse industries.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment by NIQ and INTAGE HD to aid clients in navigating increasingly interconnected markets with greater clarity and confidence. Further details on the implementation timeline of this partnership are expected to emerge as both companies work toward enhancing their combined data insights systems.
