Art and Homeware Collection Celebrates Motherhood
Pillow Talk proudly announces their exclusive Mother’s Day collaboration with contemporary artist and mother Domica Hill, a proud Palawa/Pakana woman. This collection, available in-store and online starting 5th May, features two limited edition art pieces.
The Domica Hill x Pillow Talk collection celebrates the resilience of mothers and mother figures. It consists of two original artworks accompanied by a curated range of homewares, including cushions, quilts, and dinnerware. These items are designed to emphasise themes of connection and healing.
Domica Hill’s deeply personal journey with motherhood is at the heart of the collection. Her artistic practice is a means of expressing and processing grief following the loss of her children: Briar, Huxley, and Aurora. Her work has transformed into a powerful expression of resilience through creativity.
Paths of Rest, one of the featured artworks, highlights gentle journeys through rest, renewal, and connection to the land. Flowing lines represent paths walked by Ancestors, and native blooms and earth tones enhance the beauty of slowing down.
Another piece, Sacred Stillness, captures a serene moment on Country, emphasizing rest and connection. Twin palms in the artwork symbolize support and strength, while flowing patterns reflect movement and healing.
Domica Hill reflects on the collection: “This collection is deeply personal to me. My art has been a way of processing my own grief, while also celebrating indigenous culture and storytelling. To see these pieces become part of people’s homes, especially around Mother’s Day, is incredibly meaningful.”
Kellie Bower, Design Lead at Pillow Talk, shared, “At Pillow Talk, we’re passionate about supporting Australian creatives and celebrating the stories that shape our communities. Collaborating with Domica Hill has allowed us to bring her unique artistic voice into our customers’ homes.”
The collection unites art, culture, and storytelling, grounded in the belief that a home is more than a space. It is a place of comfort, healing, and deep connection.
This collaboration aims to offer a meaningful gift option for Mother’s Day, focusing on themes of connection and storytelling through home décor. The pieces are available for purchase starting May 5th, both in-store and online.
Pillow Talk’s initiative not only highlights the emotional depth of Hill’s art but also encourages buyers to reflect on the significance of motherhood. The collaboration aligns with their mission to support Australian artists and promote cultural storytelling.
