New Platform Unifies Identity Management

Quest Software has unveiled the Quest Security Management Platform, an AI-powered solution designed to tackle growing identity threats. Announced on April 14, 2026, the platform provides a unified approach to identity threat detection, response, and secure migration.

The platform offers organisations visibility into non-human identities and ensures disaster recovery readiness within Microsoft environments. It addresses challenges posed by AI adoption, hybrid infrastructure expansion, and the rising number of non-human identities, which now outnumber human identities by an estimated ratio of 82:1.

Quest Software‘s annual State of ITDR research indicates that over 75 per cent of global organisations do not test identity recovery frequently enough. This leaves them vulnerable to potential attacks that could result in costly business downtime.

Michael Laudon, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Quest Software, emphasised the platform’s importance, stating, “AI fundamentally threatens the identity landscape and one thing is clear – identity security must include rapid recovery, not just detection and response.”

Platform Features and Capabilities

The Quest Security Management Platform introduces Quest Identity Defence and Quest Identity Recovery. Quest Identity Defence is an AI-driven solution enhancing security for Active Directory and Entra ID, identifying risks and blocking unauthorised changes. Quest Identity Recovery accelerates recovery processes post-ransomware attacks, improving recovery speeds by up to 90 per cent.

Quest’s platform includes On Demand Migration, which facilitates secure tenant-to-tenant migrations within Microsoft 365. This aligns with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 and follows Gartner recommendations for identity management.

Identity has become the primary attack surface, yet many organisations rely only on detection controls and limited recovery options. High-risk moments of change, such as migrations and mergers and acquisitions, further expose critical gaps in threat prevention, security, and recovery readiness. AI is accelerating both the scale and sophistication of attacks.

With over 25 years of experience in Microsoft platform modernization, Quest Software continues to lead in identity security and data management across global organisations, including 90 per cent of the Fortune 500.

The platform’s unified approach is designed to help organisations manage risk from AI agents, protect hybrid Microsoft identities from AI-led attacks, and modernise legacy Microsoft identity systems without increasing exposure. The unified approach addresses a rapidly changing threat landscape driven by AI adoption and non-human identity growth.

By addressing these challenges, Quest Software aims to provide comprehensive protection and recovery solutions. Organisations now have a single platform to manage risk, protect identities, recover quickly from incidents, and modernise legacy systems effectively.

Melbourne’s biggest moments, straight to you.
