Flora Ji to Lead Asian Expansion
Rubicon Carbon, a vertically integrated carbon credit investment and management firm, has opened a new office in Singapore. This move, announced on 17th June 2026, marks a strategic effort to enhance high-integrity carbon markets across Asia.
The Singapore office will function as a regional hub, engaging corporate buyers, project developers, governments, investors, and market partners. Rubicon Carbon aims to support high-quality carbon project origination and management while structuring offtake and financing solutions. In addition, the local presence will further Rubicon Carbon’s collaboration with the Action for a Resilient Climate (ARC) Coalition, launched at the GenZero Climate Summit. This coalition includes corporates, financial institutions, philanthropic organisations, government agencies, and technical experts.
Tom Montag, CEO of Rubicon Carbon, explained, “Establishing a presence in Singapore enables us to be closer to that growth and to the partners who will help shape the next phase of the market.” The ARC Coalition is targeting at least 10 million tonnes of carbon credits by 2030. By joining with partners, Rubicon Carbon is developing a blended-finance facility to accelerate investment in scalable, high-integrity climate projects. This initiative aims to connect demand, financing, and project delivery, thereby strengthening carbon market confidence.
Flora Ji, former Vice President of Nature-Based Solutions at Shell, has been appointed as Head of Asia and Head of Asset Management. Ji brings nearly two decades of experience across energy, infrastructure, commercial negotiations, and nature-based carbon solutions. She will lead the expansion efforts and oversee asset management across Rubicon Carbon’s global portfolio.
Flora Ji emphasised, “Asia will play a defining role in global climate action over the coming decades. Singapore is an important hub for carbon markets, finance, and regional partnerships.” CEO Tom Montag added that Asia is rapidly becoming a crucial centre for carbon markets, with increasing momentum in corporate demand, policy development, and project investment. As a result, Rubicon Carbon’s presence in Singapore will allow the company to closely engage with the evolving market and partners essential for its growth.
Rubicon Carbon has supported the development and launch of the ARC Coalition and is working with partners to develop a blended-finance facility designed to accelerate investment in scalable, high-integrity climate projects. Through this work, Rubicon Carbon aims to connect demand, financing, and project delivery to strengthen confidence and scale carbon markets. The company’s efforts align with ARC’s goal of procuring at least 10 million tonnes of carbon credits by 2030.
