Ultra-Clean Design for Bioprocessing Needs

SaniSure announced the launch of PETG PharmaTainer on April 20, 2023, in Camarillo, California. This new product line features ultra-clean bottles and carboys designed to enhance the bioprocessing workflow. The containers are made using Eastman Eastar PETG 6763 resin and SaniSure’s proprietary automation process. This launch expands SaniSure’s PharmaTainer platform, recognised for its cleanliness and performance attributes.

The PETG PharmaTainer containers range from 10 mL vials to 10 L carboys and are available in sterile and non-sterile options. They support the entire bioprocessing workflow, accommodating both open and closed operations with standard and fully custom assemblies. This versatility makes them suitable for various stages of research and development.

“With PETG PharmaTainer™, we are shifting cleanliness from a post-processing step to a fully automated, built-in standard,” stated Steven Chevillotte, CEO of SaniSure. “This enables us to confidently deliver the cleanest bioprocessing containers on the market for our customers’ most critical applications.” The containers are designed to provide ultra-low levels of particulates, endotoxins, and RNase/DNase, minimizing adoption timelines.

Key Features of PETG PharmaTainer

The containers are certified to contain less than 5% of USP limits for sub-visible particulates, tested at lot release, and require no post-wash. Exceptional endotoxin control is achieved, with results consistently below 0.001 EU/mL detection limit per USP . This is achieved by design and not by washing.

Validated to be RNase/DNase-free, PETG PharmaTainer is ideal for nucleic acid-based therapies, including mRNA, oligonucleotides, and gene therapy applications. Gamma-sterilized to SAL 10⁻⁶, these containers reduce the traditional 2–3 days of washing, depyrogenation, and sterilization steps, minimizing labour and contamination risk.

Freeze-thaw validation to −80°C ensures suitability for bulk drug substance cold chain and stability studies. This feature maintains container integrity under extreme conditions. Compatibility with legacy PETG bottles allows seamless integration into existing workflows, minimizing change-control burdens.

Users can start with PharmaTainer in early-stage R&D and carry the same platform through clinical and commercial phases, eliminating the need for requalification when scaling. For technical specifications and ordering details, visit sanisure.com/petg or contact a SaniSure representative.
