New Models for Drug Discovery Teams

Inventia Life Science announced the launch of RASTRUM Validated Solutions on 16th April 2026, designed to aid drug discovery teams in generating decision-grade data from human-relevant 3D cell models.

Powered by the RASTRUM platform, these solutions provide predefined model blueprints for producing biologically relevant 3D data with speed and reproducibility. As part of Inventia’s broader RASTRUM platform, teams have the flexibility to start with context-specific solutions or develop and optimise their own models.

The first solutions released focus on pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and fibroblast activation. PDAC model blueprints facilitate reproducible drug response studies in tumour-stromal interactions, while the fibroblast activation models aid in controlled lung fibroblast activation and signalling analysis.

Each RASTRUM Validated Solution includes a Protocol Pack that specifies inputs and parameters for model creation, along with a Data Pack that validates the disease-specific biology captured by the model. These solutions are designed to enable drug discovery teams to generate reliable data for decision-making with more confidence and speed.

Cameron Ferris, PhD, Co-Founder and COO of Inventia Life Science, emphasised that “RASTRUM Validated Solutions are about helping drug discovery teams get to decision-grade data faster.” He highlighted the importance of adopting human-relevant 3D biology for stronger decision-making in drug discovery.

Sean Porazinski, PhD, Head of Scientific Programmes at Inventia Life Science, noted, “From a scientific perspective, Validated Solutions bring structure to what matters most: model design, biological confirmation, functional readouts, and expected performance in a specific use case.”

The RASTRUM platform is known for its precision drop-on-demand bioprinting, xeno-free tunable matrices, and workflow-driven software, supporting disease modelling, mechanistic biology, and drug discovery. Additional RASTRUM Validated Solutions are scheduled for release later this year, expanding the capabilities available to research teams.

Inventia Life Science develops advanced 3D cell culture solutions that help researchers generate reproducible, biologically relevant in vitro models at scale. This launch highlights Inventia’s continued commitment to advancing 3D cell culture solutions for drug discovery and disease modelling.
