Melbourne High Tea Set 40 Floors Above CBD Launches 18th April 2026

Strato Melbourne will launch what is positioned as the highest high tea experience in Melbourne from 18th April 2026. The weekend service will operate 40 floors above the CBD, offering 360-degree city views alongside a structured three-tier menu.

The high tea will run every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 3pm. It is priced at $85 per person and includes savoury selections, desserts, tea, coffee and a glass of sparkling wine on arrival.

The elevated setting forms the central feature of the experience, with guests seated above the skyline while progressing through a menu that combines traditional high tea elements with updated flavours. The offering has been designed to attract a younger demographic and group bookings.

General Manager Jozef Uhlarik said, “This isn’t your standard grandmother’s high tea. Of course, all grandmothers are welcome, but they should expect upbeat music, a vibrant atmosphere and an elevated cocktail list. We’ve designed the high tea to feel social, celebratory and just a little bit indulgent. Whether it’s a girls’ day out, hen’s party, or a milestone moment, this is high tea – with a pulse.”

Guests will begin with freshly baked plain and fruit scones served with Chantilly cream and fruit jams. The savoury tier will include silken egg sandwiches with Dijon mustard and chives, prawn cocktail brioche with Australian prawns, smoked salmon with whipped yuzu cream cheese on a sesame bagel, and mango coronation chicken with mint and coriander.

Warm dishes will also feature, including a slow-braised beef and poppy seed pie served with house-made tomato chutney. These items are positioned to balance classic formats with more contemporary flavour combinations.

Skyline Dining And Menu Details

The dessert tier will include vanilla silk choux, jewel berry custard tart with seasonal fruit, a midnight chocolate gold dome, and velvet raspberry macarons. Each item will be presented as part of a three-tier structure.

In addition, a curated cocktail list will be available, featuring Naught Gin-based drinks with notes of passionfruit, vanilla, apple and mint. Bellinis, Mimosas and spritz-style cocktails will also be offered.

Guests will have the option to upgrade to a bottomless drinks package, which is designed for extended sittings and group bookings. This option complements the fixed service time and structured format.

Since opening in 2022, the venue has drawn both local and international visitors with its elevated position and interior design. It includes three VIP rooms, which are available for private dining and group events.

The high tea will operate as a recurring weekend service, aligning with demand for daytime dining experiences within the CBD. The format combines a fixed schedule with a set menu and optional beverage upgrades.
