Strategic Partnership to Enhance Operations

Global IT firm FPT and ASEAN conglomerate SCG have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore AI and digital transformation initiatives across SCG’s business ecosystems.

The partnership, announced on 2nd June, aims to accelerate AI-driven operations, intelligent enterprise platforms, and advanced ERP transformation to improve operational efficiency and sustainability.

Levi Nguyen, CEO of FPT Thailand and FPT Taiwan, stated, “Through this partnership, FPT will support SCG to translate AI ambition into tangible business outcomes, driving smarter operations and innovation.”

Focus on Intelligent Enterprise

SCG is transitioning from a data-driven to an AI-driven enterprise, aiming to incorporate artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation into its core operations. Thammasak Sethaudom, President and CEO of SCG, said the goal is to “maximise efficiency and unlock high-value business impact across our entire portfolio.”

FPT will leverage its CASAN framework, a five-level AI capability model, to guide SCG through AI transformation. The collaboration will explore AI, cloud, IoT, data governance, and enterprise systems integration across SCG’s business units.

In Thailand, FPT is focused on building long-term partnerships by working closely with local enterprises and investing in talent and ecosystems together. The company serves leading enterprises across various sectors including banking, retail, and manufacturing. FPT has partnerships with global firms like Unilever and Honda.

Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, emphasised the growing momentum to embed AI across production, operations, and business functions. FPT’s challenge is not accessing technology but embedding AI into the right processes.

The CASAN framework provides a roadmap for AI transformation, helping enterprises move from exploration to making AI a core organisational capability. This framework is integral to achieving real value from AI initiatives.

SCG’s partnership with FPT will combine deep industry expertise with cutting-edge digital capabilities. This alliance aims to create scalable AI solutions that enhance competitiveness and build a robust technological ecosystem across the region.

This collaboration aligns with Vietnam’s General Secretary and State President To Lam’s official visit, highlighting strategic bilateral agreements between Thai and Vietnamese business executives.
