Ticket Sales Begin on National Pet Day

Excitement is building as the Sydney Cat Lovers Festival and Dog Lovers Festival prepare to transform the Sydney Showground on 23-24 August 2026. Pet enthusiasts will have the perfect occasion to celebrate, with tickets becoming available on 11 April, aligning with National Pet Day. This timing offers a delightful way to honour the bond between humans and their beloved pets.

Event Director Paul Mathers exclaimed, “National Pet Day is all about celebrating the incredible role pets play in our lives, so it’s the ideal moment to launch tickets for our Sydney Festivals.”

Pet lovers can enjoy both the Cat Lovers Festival and Dog Lovers Festival with a single ticket, offering incredible value. Attendees will have access to breed showcases, Pat-A-Pooch and Pat-A-Cat zones, adoption areas, and expansive shopping marketplaces.

Festival Highlights

Australia’s most talented dogs will showcase their skills at the Dog Lovers Festival’s VitaPet Arena. Agility and training demonstrations promise to provide jaw-dropping entertainment. Kurgo® DockDogs will further thrill audiences with their aquatic competitions, featuring long jump, high jump, and speed retrieval events.

Meanwhile, the Cat Lovers Festival will feature an expansive Breed Showcase. Visitors will meet and learn about various cat breeds, while the popular Pat-A-Cat zone allows for interactive experiences with different breeds, highlighting their unique characteristics.

This event promises the largest gathering yet, featuring expanded breed showcases, expert talks, and entertainment programs. Health and safety considerations prevent personal pets from attending, yet visitors can still interact with showcase animals.

In addition, the festivals will spotlight a massive Dog Expo, showcasing the latest products, services, and innovations for dog lovers. The Marketplace will champion Australia’s boutique dog businesses, offering exclusive Festival Specials and competitions.

Early bird pricing will be available for a limited time, allowing pet enthusiasts to secure their spot at this unforgettable weekend event, making it more accessible for families and individuals alike.
