Oxford Street Precinct to Host Expansive Program
Qtopia Sydney has announced that Pride Fest 2026 will feature over 300 events throughout June, marking the festival's largest programme to date. The event will take place across the entire Oxford Street precinct from 1st to 30th June.
This year's festival will expand beyond Qtopia Sydney to include various venues such as The Loading Dock Theatre, The BWYASSS Substation, and The Eternity Playhouse, among others. The precinct is set to be adorned in purple as part of the celebrations.
The festival will kick off with the inaugural Pride Fest Gala on 2nd June, promising an evening of exceptional performances. Notable headliners include Skank Sinatra in 'The Name on Everybody's Lips' and the collaborative show by Kala Gare and Victoria Falconer, 'Juicy Riot'.
Diverse Programme Highlights
Pride Fest 2026 will showcase a wide array of events, including queer theatre, drag, comedy, cabaret, and more. Highlights include 'Homogrown', 'Dykes on Bikes: An Origin Story', and 'Jess Fuchs: Feral'.
In addition, the festival will introduce new elements like 'Pride Fest: Intersections', celebrating cultural diversity, and 'Fit N’ Proud', a fitness and dance programme sponsored by Bupa.
Festival Director Carly Fisher stated, "Pride Fest is a powerful reminder of what happens when community comes together with purpose. This year's growth has been driven by the community and we couldn't be more proud to welcome new partners on board."
The NSW Government, through Destination NSW, will be a Strategic Sponsor for the event. For more information on the complete festival program, visit the Qtopia Sydney website.
For the first time, the festival will extend beyond Qtopia Sydney to completely take over the Oxford Street precinct, creating an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere throughout June. The festival will not only highlight performances but also include workshops, panel discussions, book launches, and restaurant activations. These activities aim to engage a diverse audience and foster community connections.
Skank Sinatra's cabaret performance is scheduled from 10th to 14th May, while the high-energy 'Juicy Riot' show will take place on 29th May. Both promise to deliver memorable experiences filled with music and entertainment.
Additional events such as 'Still Proud: Honouring the 78ers', 'Saddle Club Line Dancing', and 'Nails The Musical: In Concert' offer something for everyone, ensuring a truly diverse festival lineup.
