Free festival runs on 29 August 2026 at Kingston Butter Factory
Torres Strait Islander singer Daisha Auda will perform at Logan’s World of Cultures festival on 29 August 2026, days after earning a four-chair turn on The Voice Australia.
The free event will run from 3pm to 7pm at Kingston Butter Factory. Settlement Services International is staging it as part of Queensland Multicultural Month.
Auda is 15 and was born and raised in Logan. She is returning to her home community with a message for young people in the crowd that they belong on stage too.
She wants young Indigenous and culturally diverse people to see themselves represented at the festival. “We’re allowed to be on these stages, we are allowed to be in these spaces,” Auda said.
SSI highlights Logan artists and vendors
SSI runs World of Cultures as a multicultural arts celebration in Logan. The non-profit describes the city as one of Australia’s most multicultural centres, and the festival is now in its fifth year.
The event will feature culturally and linguistically diverse local artists, musicians, food vendors and market stallholders. Visitors will also find a live outdoor stage, artisan stalls, a cultural fashion show, roving performers and children’s activities.
According to SSI, the festival focuses on giving back to the community that creates it. It also aims to build opportunities for migrant and refugee creatives to reach a wider audience.
Rose Vearing, World of Cultures organiser and SSI’s Head of Community Wellbeing and Health, said the festival had grown alongside Logan itself. She said the event gives communities space to share their culture with pride and invites broader audiences to experience that culture in Logan.
Vearing also said SSI invests each year in local performers, artists, cultural groups, market stallholders and food vendors. She said that support helps people showcase their talents, share their stories and generate economic benefit.
World of Cultures is held on Yagara and Yugambeh Lands. SSI did not give attendance figures for the 2026 festival or say how many performers and stallholders will take part.
SSI delivers settlement support, disability programs, community engagement initiatives, and training and employment pathways. The organisation says its services connect individuals, families and children from diverse backgrounds with opportunities.
