Victorian Sport Awards nominations open for 2025

Victorian Sport Awards nominations open from 14th January 2026

Nominations for the Victorian Sport Awards opened on Wednesday 14th January 2026. The awards recognise contributions across Victorian sport and active recreation during the 2025 calendar year. The Victorian Government and Vicsport present the awards.

The Victorian Sport Awards cover the full sporting landscape across the state. The program includes 18 award categories recognising athletes, teams, coaches, officials, volunteers, administrators, media contributors, and participation initiatives.

The awards recognise achievements across community and high-performance sport. Grassroots contributors feature alongside athletes who competed at national and international levels. Together, the categories reflect participation, leadership, and performance across Victorian sport.

Members of the public can submit nominations through the Vicsport website. Nominations remain open until Friday 13th February 2026. After the closing date, appointed judging panels will assess submissions for each category.

Vicsport Chair Jason Hellwig said the awards recognise achievement across the sport and recreation sector. “In partnership with the Victorian Government, Vicsport is excited to once again recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our state’s sport and recreation community at the Victorian Sport Awards,” he said.

“This night allows us to honour grassroots contributors and high-performance athletes together,” Hellwig said. “Both groups play a vital role in strengthening sport and recreation across Victoria.”

“With 18 awards to be presented, I strongly urge all Victorians to submit their nominations to ensure their sport is well represented on the night,” he said.

Judging panels will select four finalists for each award following the nomination period. Organisers will announce finalists in March. The awards ceremony will take place in May.
