Wilson Launches Rush 5 Tour Tennis Shoe

Rush 5 Tour engineered for explosive movement and tour-level durability

Wilson has launched its newest men’s tennis shoe, the Rush 5 Tour™. The release marks the relaunch of the Rush franchise and aligns with the evolving demands of the modern game. The shoe is now available in-store and online from 17th February.

Designed for speed, physicality and sustained movement, the Rush 5 Tour delivers propulsion, stability and durability. Wilson validated the updated franchise through extensive athlete testing. As a result, players including Alex de Minaur, Karen Khachanov and Jiří Lehečka will wear the shoe in competition.

Wilson developed the Rush 5 Tour over two years. The process included biomechanical analysis, advanced material research and continuous athlete playtesting. Each component addresses three defined performance needs: secure fit, explosive feel and controlled function at high speed.

Performance technology targets modern game demands

The shoe retains the proven Rush last while refining containment for aggressive lateral movement. In addition, the EndoFit internal midfoot support system wraps the foot from the inside to reduce in-shoe movement. Consequently, players gain a connected feel when cutting, stopping and pushing off at speed.

The GammaWeave engineered mesh upper adds structure where support is required. At the same time, it remains lightweight and breathable. This construction locks the foot in place during lateral load without adding bulk or stiffness.

Underfoot, a Pebax midsole in the forefoot provides lightweight responsiveness and energy return. Inspired by elite running footwear, the design adapts cushioning and propulsion for tennis-specific demands. Therefore, players experience a consistent, controlled feel across extended rallies and high-intensity matches.

At the centre of the shoe sits the Dual Axis Speed Carbon Frame. Wilson engineered the system using learnings from its FORTYFIVE° carbon racquet technology. The midfoot yoke manages torsional forces created by aggressive lateral movement while allowing natural flex through the forefoot.

By reinforcing side-to-side stability and maintaining front-to-back movement, the frame supports powerful push-offs. As a result, the shoe delivers control without limiting directional change.

“Our objective with the Rush 5 Tour was simple but ambitious,” says Tate Kuerbis, Senior Director of Footwear Design at Wilson. “We wanted to build a shoe that supports explosive movement in every direction while maintaining the control elite players expect. Tennis is faster and more physical than ever, and the footwear must keep up. That’s exactly what the Rush 5 Tour is built to do.”

The Rush 5 range includes three models: Lite priced at $189.95, Pro at $239.95 and Tour at $319.95. The collection offers options across multiple levels of play, from beginner to professional.

The initial colourway features white, bay and fiery coral, with additional releases scheduled throughout the grand slam calendar.

The Rush 5 Collection is available in-store and online from 17th February.
