World-Famous Cocktail Bar Death & Co Lands in Melbourne

Death & Co Melbourne cocktail bar set to redefine the CBD nightlife

This November, the internationally acclaimed Death & Co is set to open its first Australian venue, right in the heart of Melbourne at 87 Flinders Lane. Known globally for redefining cocktail culture, Death & Co’s arrival marks one of the most exciting bar openings of the year for the city’s vibrant hospitality scene.

Founded in New York City in 2006, Death & Co has played a pivotal role in shaping the modern craft cocktail movement. With existing venues in New York, Los Angeles, Denver, and Washington D.C., the brand has earned worldwide recognition for reviving the artistry of classic cocktails while also pioneering new creations for adventurous drinkers.

Melbourne’s flagship venue promises the same exceptional standard. To ensure the experience translates authentically, newly appointed managers have undergone intensive training in the U.S., immersing themselves in Death & Co’s renowned culture, philosophy, and service rituals.

Guests will be treated to some of the brand’s iconic cocktails. Among them is the Naked & Famous, a perfectly balanced blend of Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Chartreuse, Aperol, and Lime. Another highlight is the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, crafted with El Jimador Reposado, Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Agave Syrup, and Angostura Bitters. These celebrated signatures will be joined by Melbourne-exclusive creations, incorporating local flavours to give the bar a distinct Australian edge.

Beyond drinks, the venue’s design is expected to capture the same understated elegance that has become synonymous with Death & Co across the United States. The Melbourne location will not only showcase cocktails but also deliver a complete hospitality experience that blends atmosphere, innovation, and service excellence.

Death & Co Melbourne will officially open in November 2025, with Brisbane soon to follow. Its second Australian location is already confirmed for 543A Coronation Drive, Toowong, beneath the Regatta Hotel.

For Melbourne locals and visitors, this opening represents a chance to experience one of the most influential cocktail institutions without boarding a plane. From inventive classics to new creations, the Death & Co Melbourne bar is poised to become a must-visit destination for cocktail enthusiasts.
