Celebrating Global Humanitarian Efforts
Henley & Partners, alongside the Andan Foundation, is inviting nominations for the 2026 Global Citizen Award. This prestigious accolade honours individuals who make significant strides in addressing global humanitarian challenges.
Launched in 2014, the Global Citizen Award has celebrated individuals whose contributions transcend national borders. Past recipients include German entrepreneur Harald Höppner, who initiated the refugee aid project Sea Watch, and Dr. Imtiaz Sooliman, founder of Africa’s largest disaster relief organisation, the Gift of the Givers Foundation.
Dr. Christian H. Kaelin, Chairman of Henley & Partners and Founder of the Andan Foundation, emphasises that the award is open globally to those tackling issues directly linked to their fields. “We seek individuals who exhibit vision, courage, and innovation in driving global change,” he stated.
The 2026 laureate will be selected by an esteemed independent committee and honoured at the Global Citizen Award ceremony, part of the annual Henley & Partners Global Citizenship Conference. The selection process is based on a majority decision, ensuring fairness and transparency.
The award includes a unique medal crafted by renowned Italian artist Antonio Nocera, a certificate signed by the Committee Chairman, and a monetary prize of USD 20,000 to bolster the recipient’s humanitarian efforts. Henley & Partners pledges to elevate awareness of the awardee’s work through its network of more than 70 offices worldwide.
Among previous laureates, Monique Morrow, Co-Founder of The Humanized Internet, was recognised for her efforts to provide digital identity to over 1.1 billion people without legal identification. Diep Vuong, Co-Founder and President of the Pacific Links Foundation, received the award for her anti-human trafficking work in Southeast Asia. Prof. Dr. Padraig O’Malley was honoured for his conflict resolution initiatives in Northern Ireland, South Africa, and Iraq.
Zannah Bukar Mustapha was celebrated for his contributions to the psychological, educational, and spiritual development of vulnerable groups. These individuals represent the transformative impact the award aims to recognise.
The deadline for nominations is 6 May 2026. Submissions are accepted online or via email, providing an accessible platform for global participation. This ensures that deserving candidates from diverse backgrounds can be considered for this distinguished honour.
