Season 5 Features Multimedia Format and New Host
Season 5 of the acclaimed podcast This Being Human has been launched by the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, now presented as a multimedia video podcast hosted by Mai Habib.
Aiming to engage audiences with a global dialogue on art, culture, identity, and pressing ideas shaping humanity, the new season expands its reach. With over 100 episodes from previous seasons, this marks the first time the series will be available as an audiovisual experience.
Viewers can find each of the 12 episodes of Season 5 filmed and distributed on YouTube and major podcast platforms. Conversations will include prominent figures like Gary Kamemoto, Dr. Christiane Gruber, and Ohida Khandakar, offering diverse perspectives in architecture, scholarship, and visual culture.
One of the featured voices this season is Gary Kamemoto, Principal Architect from Maki and Associates. His firm is responsible for the architectural design of the Aga Khan Museum, providing him with unique insights into the intersection of architecture and culture.
Contributing her expertise on Islamic art, Dr. Christiane Gruber, a Professor at the University of Michigan, adds depth to the discussions on cultural heritage and artistic expression.
Ohida Khandakar, a visual artist and filmmaker, brings a fresh perspective to the series. She explores themes of identity and storytelling through visual culture, enriching the podcast’s narrative.
Partnership and New Host
This season introduces an editorial partnership with The Walrus, enhancing the series’ exploration of cultural narratives. Mai Habib, a former journalist and cultural advocate, takes over as host, bringing her expertise to the program.
