Amplified Rock Tribute Plays Five Shows From 19th March
Amplified: The Exquisite Rock and Rage of Chrissy Amphlett will play a strictly limited five-show season at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre from 19th March to 22nd March. The production returns to Melbourne following earlier seasons in Victoria and New South Wales. Tickets are on sale through the official ticketing platform.
The stage production channels the songs and personal stories of Australian rock figure Chrissy Amphlett. The show features a live four-piece band led by musical director Glenn Moorhouse. Sheridan Harbridge performs as the central vocalist.
The work traces Amphlett’s rise as frontwoman of Divinyls. It follows her early performances in suburban venues through to national chart success. Moreover, it examines her impact on a male-dominated music industry.

Production Background
Director and co-creator Sarah Goodes developed the production after discussions with Amphlett’s husband and close friend. The creative team drew inspiration from a one-woman show Amphlett had been developing before her passing. As a result, the current production combines live music with narrative storytelling.
The show premiered at UMAC in Melbourne in June 2025. It then played a sold-out season at Belvoir St Theatre in Sydney. Following that run, the production toured to Ballarat and Geelong, Amphlett’s hometown.
Jacaranda Productions and UMAC developed the work with support from Geelong Arts Centre. Marriner Group presents the Comedy Theatre season.

Goodes said, “No one can be Chrissy. We can only hope to reach for the spell she cast on us all, and in the hands of a performer like Sheridan, that spell is pretty intoxicating.”
She also said, “Amplified weaves together myth, music and the deep reverence people still hold for Chrissy Amphlett, creating a fresh, emotionally charged Australian production that celebrates not just an icon, but the powerful connection she created with a generation.”
The Melbourne season runs for four days only. Consequently, the engagement marks the production’s limited return to the city where it first premiered.
