Funds will back global expansion and payment technology

Ant International announced on 20 July 2026 that it had closed a Series A equity financing round of about US$1.2 billion.

Ant Group and Alibaba Group took part as existing investors. Other international investment institutions also joined the round.

It will use the proceeds to speed up global expansion. Funding will also support merchant payment, account management and inclusive financial services for SMEs and enterprises.

Ant International began independent operation in 2024. Since then, it has built main operations across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.

Its partnership network includes banks, card organisations, mobile payment leaders and technology enterprises. Through those links, Ant International connects more than 150 million merchants with over 2 billion user accounts worldwide.

That network supports cross-border commerce and payment interoperability. As a result, merchants can link into more markets through one wider system.

Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst and Bettr

Ant International runs four main business pillars: Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst and Bettr. Together, they focus on merchant payment, treasury and credit technology.

The company also highlighted AI-powered tools in the release. Those tools support merchant payments, treasury functions and credit services tied to cross-border trade.

The release described Ant International as a global digital payment, digitisation and financial technology provider.

Following its 2024 spin into independent operation, the business has expanded through work with banks, card networks, payment companies and tech groups. That partner base now stretches across four regions named in the announcement.

Merchant payment and account management are two clear targets for the new capital. Inclusive financial services for SMEs were also named, alongside services for larger enterprises.

Ant International said its broader techfin platform works with both private- and public-sector partners. It added that this model supports financial institutions and merchants of different sizes.

Meanwhile, the fundraising adds fresh capital to a company that is still early in its independent life. The Series A close gives Ant International more firepower as it builds payment and financial products for global commerce.
