Queensland can complete a bull riding clean sweep
Bull riding returns to Sydney on Saturday, 1st August, with Queensland already holding the 2026 Origin series and chasing a clean sweep at TikTok Entertainment Centre.
The final round of the PBR Australia Monster Energy Origin Series starts at 7:00 PM in Darling Harbour after Queensland secured back-to-back wins in Newcastle and Brisbane to reclaim the trophy.
New South Wales heads into the last event playing for pride on home soil, while 350 tonnes of dirt are set to be poured into the Sydney venue for the showdown.
PBR Australia General Manager Glen Young said the series result had not taken the edge off the final night. “There’s nothing quite like Origin. Queensland has earned the trophy back, but I can guarantee New South Wales won’t be rolling over in Sydney. They’ll be desperate to finish the series with a win in front of their home crowd, while Queensland will be equally determined to make history with a clean sweep. That’s what makes this competition so special, every ride matters.”
Origin teams named
Queensland has brought four new riders into its line-up: Rylee Ward, Thomas Triplett, Caiden Sandilands and Clay Hall, who will make his Origin debut. They join Australia’s No.1 ranked bull rider Kurt Shephard in the Maroons squad.
New South Wales has also changed its side, with JC Davis and Australia’s 2025 Rookie Champion Luan Crystian Camara coming in for Thomas Hudson and Lachlan Slade. Keny Roger de Oliveira, Sam Woodall, Clint Glass and Jack Rowlandson are also in the Blues team.
A junior curtain-raiser will also be held in Sydney, with teams of four selected from the 2025 PBR Australia Can-Am Junior Academy. The riders are aged between nine and 17.
Queensland’s junior team is Lane Cross, Chase Wieland, Wylie Roots and Jasper Wieland. New South Wales will field Liam Birks, Kassedy Carlon, Nash Goddard and Chase Berry.
