Free family activities included with admission in Doonside
Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park will mark its 54th birthday with a Paws & Claws Birthday Celebration in Doonside on Saturday 25 July 2026. From 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, visitors can join free face painting, fairy floss, cupcakes and special surprises.
Alongside the birthday event, families can attend keeper talks, watch animal encounters and meet the park mascot Bruce the Koala. The birthday activities are included with general admission or a valid membership.
Tickets cost $49 for adults and $29 for children, while family passes start from $70. Visitors who book online can also get a 10% discount with the code ONLINE10.
Bruce and Margaret Kubbere opened Featherdale in 1972 on the site of a former poultry farm in Doonside, NSW. Since then, the park has grown into one of Western Sydney’s best-known visitor attractions.
The Doonside park is home to more than 2,000 Australian native animals across more than 260 species, including over 60 threatened species. Visitors can also meet koalas and hand-feed kangaroos during close-up wildlife experiences.
Australian Wildlife Parks ambassador zookeeper Chad Staples said the celebration is a way to thank the community for supporting Featherdale across five decades.
“Featherdale has been part of Western Sydney family life for more than five decades,” Staples said.
Staples also pointed to families who first visited as children and now return with children of their own. According to the park, that pattern has helped Featherdale build ties with local families, school groups and overseas visitors.
Wildlife Adventure Trail showbag
Visitors can also buy an optional Wildlife Adventure Trail for $19.99. The activity unlocks an exclusive showbag valued at more than $60.
Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park is at 217 Kildare Road, Doonside, NSW 2767. The park opens daily from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.
