AI Agents Enhance On-Premises Capabilities

Aptean has unveiled its AI platform, AppCentral, and AI Agents for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central on-premises customers. This launch offers new opportunities for businesses to leverage AI without migrating to the cloud.

The platform was showcased at Directions North America and will be previewed at Directions Asia 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from May 13th to 15th. It aims to bring AI capabilities to businesses with on-premises deployments. The platform includes 10 AI agents designed to enhance operations in areas such as finance, sales, procurement, and inventory management.

Kara McClain, VP Global Partner Programme at Aptean, stated, “For the first time, our partners have a ready-to-sell AI platform and agent suite for their Business Central on-premises customers, with no migration to Business Central online and no lengthy implementation required.”

Deployment and Features

AppCentral allows partners to deploy AI agents quickly, providing actionable insights directly from live operational data. The system is designed for ease of use and requires no technical expertise from end users. Partners can implement the full agent suite within a week. This enables businesses to benefit from AI without cloud migration.

Bruno Johansson, SVP Product and Technology at Aptean, highlighted the significance of the platform: “Until now, AI in the Microsoft Business Central ecosystem has been an online-only story. Aptean’s AI platform, AppCentral, removes that barrier.”

Aptean will continue to demonstrate the platform at various Directions events throughout 2026, including in Orlando and Paris. These events provide opportunities for partners to explore the platform’s capabilities and discuss integration strategies.

Directions North America attendees can visit Booth G1 from April 27th to 29th. Directions Asia will host the booth from May 13th to 15th in Ho Chi Minh City.

The initial release includes 10 AI agents spanning areas like quality, supply chain, and production. These agents are accessible through Agent Central, Aptean’s AI hub within its AI platform, AppCentral. Partners can configure up to 20 Intelligent Workflows per customer, which are automated sequences triggered by events or schedules.

For example, a manufacturer’s quality team can respond to a regulatory inquiry in 2 minutes instead of 2 days, reducing compliance risk and manual effort. Companies can replace four hours of daily Material Requirements Planning (MRP) analysis with a 2-minute conversation. Aptean’s partners can replicate these results across every similar customer in their portfolio, all without a single cloud migration.
