Partnership with Avetta Transforms Safety Systems
Aurelia Metals has significantly enhanced its safety processes by increasing site access compliance to 96% through automated systems. This achievement was made possible by its partnership with Avetta, a leader in intelligent work readiness across global supply chains.
The transformation from manual, paper-based processes to automated solutions occurred over a 12-month period. During this time, Aurelia Metals not only increased compliance but also reduced total reportable incident frequency rates (TRIFR) by 54%. Blood lead level monitoring compliance also improved to 91%.
Aurelia Metals faced challenges with inefficiencies and human error due to their previous manual systems. Avetta’s integration of online training modules addressed these issues by increasing the average role compliance for mandatory site access modules from 32% to 96%.
Boosting Safety and Efficiency
Kelly Larkin, Learning and Development Superintendent at Aurelia, emphasised the benefits of automated processes. “We moved from paper-based processes to automated processes, and now our workers can manage their training, safety, and compliance on their phones from anywhere,” Larkin stated.
Avetta’s system improved transparency and governance by providing real-time notifications to workers about compliance requirements. As a result, this approach minimised downtime and ensured that workers were aware of what was needed for site entry.
Luke Boyle, Vice President of Operations, APAC, at Avetta, applauded Aurelia Metals for its dedication to safety. “Aurelia Metals is a perfect example of an organisation that puts safety at the heart of its culture,” Boyle said, emphasizing the critical role of digital compliance solutions.
In addition to enhancing safety compliance, Aurelia Metals sought to meet the regulatory requirements of the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2013 and the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2022. By implementing digital systems, the company ensured ongoing adherence to these standards while continuing to grow and evolve.
Aurelia Metals also needed a streamlined, reliable, and scalable way to adhere to these regulations as the business expanded. The company transitioned from unsustainable manual processes to a comprehensive digital framework, which not only improved compliance but also optimised workforce efficiency.
The partnership with Avetta has allowed Aurelia Metals to not only meet compliance standards but also optimise efficiency throughout its workforce. By automating processes, the company has enhanced transparency for stakeholders and ensured effective governance. This transformation has provided ongoing opportunities to optimise efficiency throughout the workforce.
