Capture Australia's Diversity Through Photography
Amateur and professional photographers from every corner of Australia now have the opportunity to showcase their talent in the renowned Australian Life photography competition. This celebrated event, organised by the City of Sydney, has been a platform for photographic excellence for 23 years, encouraging participants to submit images that reflect the myriad aspects of life in Australia.n
Entries may include scenes of everyday routines, the beauty of nature, portraits, and abstract compositions. The competition seeks to illuminate the creativity, perspective, and storytelling prowess that photographers convey through their lenses.n
Sydney’s Lord Mayor, Clover Moore AO, encouraged photographers to submit images that capture moments, emotions, and stories in imaginative forms. “We’re not just looking for technical skill and artistic insight; we’re keen for submissions that depict a compelling narrative,” she stated.n
Exhibition and Prizesn
Beginning 25th September, Hyde Park will transform into an outdoor gallery featuring 20 selected images until 11th October. Each finalist will be awarded a fee of AUD 555. A panel of esteemed judges will determine the winner, who will receive a cash prize of AUD 10,000.n
Visitors to the exhibition can participate in selecting their favorite image for the People’s Choice award. This winner will be announced on 9th October and will take home an OM System camera pack worth AUD 6,000.n
Eligible participants, aged 13 and above, must adhere to submission guidelines: images should be landscape-oriented, in jpeg format, and under 5MB. They must not include synthetic or artificially generated elements. The deadline for submissions is 11:59pm on 17th May.n
